Katherine M. Koppenhaver

My hats off to Katherine M. Koppenhaver for writing an informative, instructional book that is thorough and definitely arousing (not a snoozer). So, you want to know which book I am talking about? It is Katherine M. Koppenhaver's Attorney's Guide to Document Examination.

She is a top authority in the field of document examination and her book proves she is also absolutely brilliant in her writing style!

A big thanks to her for helping me increase my knowledge in my chosen field and for giving me the questions to get me ready to go to trial on my own forgery and altered document cases.

What I am reading...

I am currently reading The Document Examiner's Guide to the Justice System by Ray Walker. This is a great book to use to familiarize yourself with Forensic Document Examining. Dr. Walker uses laymens terms and covers topics such as The Role of the Document Expert, Handwriting Analysis vs. The Questioned Document Examiner, Making Your Case, and Legal and Court System.

What is a forensic document examiner?

A forensic document examiner is someone who studies questioned documents by comparing handwriting, detecting changes such as erasures or overwrites, discovering the sequence of writing and any other problems that have to do with documents and the writing or typing within them.

The largest number of problems for forensic document examiners deals with signature identification of legal documents such as wills, deeds, contracts, checks and credit card charges.
